We’re delighted to announce that the brand-new Bunkhouse at Moor House Adventure Centre is now officially open and ready to welcome groups from across the region.
Designed to provide comfortable, flexible accommodation for Scouts, leaders, training groups, and visiting organisations, the Bunkhouse offers the perfect base for adventure, learning, and memorable weekends away.
A Comfortable Base for Your Next Adventure
Whether you’re planning a weekend camp, a permit course, a leadership retreat, or a small residential experience, the Bunkhouse provides everything you need under one roof.
The accommodation can comfortably sleep up to 17 people across three rooms:
- One 8-bed room
- One 6-bed room
- One 3-bed room, ideal for leaders or adult volunteers
The building has been designed with practicality and comfort in mind, making it suitable for both short stays and longer residential visits.
Indoor Comfort Meets Outdoor Adventure
One of the standout features of the new Bunkhouse is its dedicated outdoor space. Guests have access to a private camping area capable of accommodating an additional 10–15 people, creating exciting opportunities for mixed indoor and outdoor experiences.
This flexibility makes the Bunkhouse ideal for groups wanting the comfort of indoor accommodation while still enjoying the traditional camping experience.
Modern Facilities
Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals for your group, along with modern washroom facilities including:
- A downstairs toilet
- An upstairs bathroom with shower facilities
Everything has been designed to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
Pricing
For Durham Scouts members:
- £192.50 per night when accommodation is booked alongside activities
- £230.40 per night for accommodation-only bookings
