Recently, the Scouts mandatory safety learning has been updated and improved. The new learning course will help you to understand:
- What our safety policy is and why it’s important
- What your responsibilities are in terms of safety
- How to assess and manage risks
- How to respond to and report incidents
It’s important for all our volunteers to complete the updated course, so we all feel confident to deliver your activities safely and know what to do if an incident occurs.
The course should take 40 minutes to complete and can be done through My Learning on scouts.org.uk.
Follow these simple steps:
- Sign in to scouts.org.uk. You can find the link to sign in on the top right-hand corner of the Scouts’ website if using a browser or by clicking the three horizontal lines at the Scouts’ website if using a mobile.
- Click ‘Start learning’ on the ‘My Learning’ tile.
- You’ll find the safety course under ‘The learning you need.’ Click the course title and start the course.
If you’ve not signed into the system yet, please use the guide on scouts.org.uk/quickstart to sign in for the first time.
You can also request help from a member of our County Go-Live Support Team on [email protected]
Further support to complete the learning is available on scouts.org.uk/safetylearningsupport or by contacting [email protected].
We’d appreciate if you could try to complete the learning as soon as possible, in advance of the deadline date of 14th July. End of roles will be considered for any Volunteer who has not completed the Learning.
Thank you for all you do for our young people and for committing time to put their safety first.
Bryan Johnson, County Lead Volunteer
